PermitMile Filing Reminder Texts
PermitMile can text carriers and permit-service staff when a compliance step is waiting on them, such as a document to upload, or when quarterly IFTA mileage and fuel figures are due. These are account notifications only. We never send marketing texts.
How people opt in
- The person signs in to their PermitMile account at permitmile.com. Carrier customers use the portal home page; permit-service staff use Settings.
- In the "Reminder texts" section they type their mobile number. Entering a number is optional, and nothing else in PermitMile requires it.
- They check the consent box, which is unchecked by default and separate from any other agreement, and click "Turn on texts."
- PermitMile saves the number and the date and time of consent. Texts are never turned on by default or by anyone other than the person.

The consent box starts unchecked. If someone clicks "Turn on texts" without checking it, PermitMile shows "Check the box to agree to reminder texts" and does not turn texts on.
What the texts look like
Right after someone turns texts on, PermitMile sends one confirmation:
PermitMile: You're signed up for filing reminder texts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
After that, texts only go out when something is waiting on the person:
PermitMile: Smith Trucking LLC has a step waiting on you: Upload your insurance certificate. https://www.permitmile.com/portal Reply STOP to opt out.
PermitMile: Q3 2026 IFTA miles and gallons for Smith Trucking LLC are due so the return can be prepared. https://www.permitmile.com/portal Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
PermitMile: your permit service still needs 2 things from Smith Trucking LLC for renewal season. https://www.permitmile.com/portal Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
Frequency, cost, and opting out
Message frequency varies, at most one text per reminder per day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, or END to stop, or turn texts off in PermitMile. Reply HELP or INFO for help, or email support@permitmile.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
